Wreck diving

Wreck diving-wreckdiving-
Whether sunk specifically to create artificial reefs for divers or the result of an accident, shipwrecks are fascinating windows into the past. Ships, airplanes and even cars are fascinating to explore and are usually full of aquatic life. Every dive on a wreck offers the possibility of discovering something new, perhaps unraveling a mystery or observing something never noticed by others. The Wreck Diver Specialty course is very popular because, despite following decidedly responsible exploration procedures, it offers exhilarating adventures.

Example of wrecks in the area:

Wreck "Penelope"

Ship sunk on 05/12/43 by a submarine during the last war, we find it from the islet of S. Paolo at a depth of 48 - 52 meters. Technical diving.

ISLAMOGLU Wreck of Torre Canne

Turkish cargo, sunk by unknown causes a few kilometers from the port of Torre Canne (BA). Due to this proximity to the port it is often called the "Torre Canne wreck" and few know that it is actually called ISLAMOGLU.

In perfect navigation on a sandy bottom of 39 meters, it is over 60 meters long and with two large cranes, one in the center of the ship and the other above the dashboard, always surrounded by clouds of fish.

The hull is colonized by oysters. Penetration is discouraged as the ship's living structure is very compromised. Instead, a small penetration is possible in the forward hold, between the skeins of steel cables and some large fish that have taken hold of the house.

Given the depth and type of dive, it is advisable to use nitrox to have a little more bottom time and admire the structures still intact today.

The dive takes place almost entirely between 27 and 32 meters, unless you want to reach the propeller or the side ladder descends towards the starboard side of the ship and now rests in the sand.
